Gallery Folders

Welcome to xKickstart-my-Heart !

This is my first group so I am open to any and all suggestions.  As of right now, membership and submissions are 100% OPEN.  This blog post will be updated regularly as we develop rules.

04/10/11 * Added folders to the gallery.  Unsorted art will go in 'Featured'

04/15/11 * Edited folders, made all join requests automatically accepted

04/17/11 * Sorted pictures added by other members, glad to see group activity!

05/17/11 * Been a month with not much action.  Renamed some folders and rearranged existing images :icondustingplz:

06/12/11 * Been another month, I'm happy to see some user submissions and so many new members!  I hope we can keep this group alive

6/16/11 * Important update for affiliates!!! I accidentally had the affiliation setting on 'approval by vote'.  I wasn't aware of this and often forget to check my group messages so there is a chance some affiliations may have been wrongfully denied!  It is now set to 'auto-accept' so I hope to see some new affiliations soon ^_^
Members! if you see a group that you think we should affiliate with, please spread the word!

**Important update I'm looking to add a second manager, someone who can arrange group events since I tried once and failed miserably.  Keep in mind this will be your only task; I will appreciate no other changes/updates being made without my exclusive permission!  If you think you're up for it, note me and we'll talk!

7/20/11 * Still not seeing this group as lively as I'd like to so I'm throwing caution to the wind and making a suggestion.  Yes, this group is here to focus on Buri-chan, but what about his mysterious twin brother?  What does he look like?  Dress like?  Act like?  How does he view his twin 'sister'?  Do you think he knows Bridget's secret, or were their parents so precautionary that they didn't even tell him?  I'll be adding a new folder to the gallery where members can submit any form of art depicting their interpretation of the /other/ British boy.

9/6/11 * A couple new members but still no real group activity.  Sent out about 20 affiliation requests and added over 60 pictures to the gallery (all pending approval from the rightful artists), so hopefully we'll see an increase in activity over the next couple weeks while those approvals trickle in ^^

10/2/11 * Added over 170 new images to the queue.  Just waiting on approval from the respective artists.

:star: Notice:  We are a free-for-all group!  You don't have to draw or write about Bridget to be a member.  90% of submissions are done by me (starlit-kaulitz), as our group isn't exactly well-known.  The long of the short is:  If you like Bridget, you are welcome!!!! :star:

:icononicheer:  Please join and spread the love  :icononicheer:

At the request of darkside-ky, I am putting a notice here to all current and future members.  Please understand that, while Bridget is a very loveable character and most likely the favourite of those who join, he is not the ONLY Guilty Gear character that matters.  As a matter of fact, he didn't even make an appearance until GGXX.

- Guilty Gear was released in 1998 on the PlayStation, followed by two mobile remakes: Club (2005) and RoA (2006).
- Guilty Gear X came some time in between the original and its mobile spinoffs in 2000.  It was playable on Arcade systems, Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, and Microsoft Windows.  It was superseded by X Plus (2001, PlayStation 2), X: Advance (2002, Game Boy Advance) and X ver 1.5 (2003, Arcade).
- In 2002, four years after the initial release and with a total of seven games behind it, Guilty Gear XX was now playable for Arcade systems, PlayStation 2, and Microsoft Windows.

Bridget continued to make appearances in the games that followed, but there are still versions in which he is not a playable character.  Furthermore, he wasn't even intended to be the unique character that he is.  He was designed as a female bounty hunter, but amongst the vastly colourful cast he'd be put into, the creators felt as though SHE would not be interesting enough.  Hence, the last minute gender swap.
So, please, even though we are here to love and support our little trap, if you are a fan of Bridget solely as a character, do not group yourself with the rest of the Guilty Gear fanbase.  Alternatively, if you are a player/fan of the Guilty Gear series and its many installments, try not to let your interest revolve around our habit-bearing, yo-yo swinging Buri-chan... except when you're here

Thank you for taking the time to read this and please, do not let your views of this group or its moderator (namely, me) change because of this.  I am simply doing a favour for a fellow deviant who kindly expressed his concerns for the stability of the GG fanbase.  This is still a place to worship Bridget, that will not change, but outside of our little group, show love for the rest of the characters and the incredibly well-thought out storyline as well.

What do you all think of a black guy cosplaying Bridget? My buddy is thinking about it, but he's not really sure if he should.

Cosplay should not be judged by body image or race. If it would make him more comfortable, he could try one of the alternate colour schemes [link] but this is just a suggestion! I'm sure your buddy will look great no matter which outfit he chooses.

What he's worried about is that he's not really "cut" for Bridget. But he's pretty much built like me. I tell him he's alright with doing it, but he's worried that folks will jump on him for cosplaying a guy that looks like a girl...

Aha, where is he planning on wearing this costume, if I may ask? Conventions, in my experience, are nothing if not open minded places. Cosplayers are people of all ages, sizes, genders, races, etc., and most of them are considerate enough to ignore these factors in favor of appreciating the costume's construction and sharing the love of the character and his/her/their origin. Crossdressing is quite prevalent as well, and I really can't imagine anyone bringing it up in a negative fashion.
